Work on a Saturday

• Coming up with DIY ideas for my living room
• Scouring Craigslist for crap that I want
• Reading on my Kindle
• Eating trail mix
• Wishing the trail mix was a burger from Hopdoddy

+ We’re making an R2D2 piñata at work. We better win this thing.

+ Number of fruit flies is rapidly disintegrating.

- I have not been able to fulfill my craving.

+ Meeting new people at work.

- Unending sneezing fits at unforeseen times.

+/- I want a beer.

So this year

-I should will start studying for, then take the GRE

-I will learn a new skill (coding, it’s kind of fun)

-I will ride a plane at least three times

-I will exercise

-I will continue to hone my outlook on life

-I will learn to cook

The good of 6th St.

-When it’s 80s Night and you’re by the bar, then they start playing The Cure and everyone you’re with immediately wants to go dance.

-When I run into people from long, long ago and am genuinely happy for this random encounter.

-When strangers give Hoan and me “couple compliments.”

-When they play R. Kelly’s Ignition remix as the last song of the evening.

-When I don’t end the night surrounded by Asians at Latitude.

What a good day!

-Got a crapton of things checked off my to-do list at work

-Went to my book club and had discussions/desserts with gals

-Started journaling again in my new Moleskine that’s actually intended for writing and isn’t a planner

-Most likely settled on what my next apartment complex will be (it’s real cute, but probably not as cute as where I am now)

-It’s my dad’s birthday!

-I’m going to be able to get ample sleep tonight

-Oh yeah, and I got a postcard! Freakin love postcards.

1. I need some photo editing software. What’s a program that’s not too expensive? Don’t say Gimp.

2. Tomorrow, I’m going to Jessica’s art show! Hopefully.

3. First Thursday with Jordyn helped me remember why I love Austin, specifically south Austin. Still really enjoying the north side of town though.

4. My roommate asked for me to let her know about renewing our lease. It was awkward because I thought she already knew I wasn’t going to live with her…

Today

+ I got my wristband to Fun Fun Fun Fest!

+ My roommate’s at work, so I jammed out to Usher and TLC.

- Ran out of eggs, but I’ve been to the store twice this week already so no more.

+ It’s a beautiful day, so I rode my bike to run a VERY IMPORTANT ERRAND.

- Standing on street corners with pan handlers is kind of awkward. 

+ Black Swan with Bruce in a little bit.

+Job interviews!

-Spent 100 dollars at Zara

+Found 10 dollar flats from Zara!

+Better moods, that spring in my step has returned

-Lots of incomplete/postponed projects

+Hoan

+Writing in my journal

-Very bleh dinner from Arpeggio Grill

-I should be asleep now

Day 29: Goals for the next thirty days

• Be on my way to getting a new job… at least have interviews lined up
• Get dining chairs
• Put up curtains
• Have the clutter and miscellany in my bedroom organized and put away
• Go somewhere to have recreational fun in water (Schlitterbahn, floating the river, beach, whatever)
• See Ara and Jessica at least once!!!!! Gosh 
• The boys, too
• Attend a class at Black Swan
• Work out consistently? Da Shred

Updates

• I haven’t had Internet in a week
• I am bumming off my parents’ wonderful DSL
• The apartment is so bare and not homey in the slightest, but hopefully that will change this coming week
• But I have grown to really enjoy my room and appreciate my spacious closet
• This was a very eventful weekend—dancing at Barbarella, attending graduations and their accompanying lunches and dinners, falling and scraping my knee, shopping at the Asian market, swimming at Hamilton Pool, hanging out with Jose!!!
• Work is boo-boo, I need to get paper

SXSW 2011

• met Hoan’s cousin
• saw Odd Future and thought of Bruce
• went to random bars and listened to random, but okay-sounding bands
• scoured downtown for a car2go
• saw Toro y Moi and it was awesome
• listened absentmindedly to bad European music
• saw my friend’s band Sphynx play a danceable set
• saw “Starfucker” from the rooftop of the House of Commons
• bonded with the friendliest, most amazing dog named Levi
• drank too much with too little leeway for my 8AM shift
• puked at work, but discreetly
• didn’t sleep at all
• hung out with Hoan and watched Community

I’m going to nap now for three hours. 

I need to buy

• a lunchbox
• construction paper
• gifts
• a new pair of glasses
• a windshield (okay okay okay okay I’LL DO IT GEEZ)
• a sleeping bag
• a bag of chips
• “camping attire” which doesn’t really mean anything to me right now but whose meaning will probably become much more clear when I’m in the middle of nowhere and I must make do with yoga pants and shorts from the Gap and Keds 
• “work attire” which means more business casual 
•  and a TV!
